



The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ivara Esu has commenced Performance Evaluation of projects in the 18 Local Government Councils(LGCs) of the state.
The deputy governor who began the tour from Calabar Municipality intimated that the inspection is necessitated by the desire of the Ayade-led Administration to complete all ongoing projects before the end of its tenure.
He explained that the visit is also a way of saying thank you to the Chairmen and other stakeholders for their cooperation in working with him within the last three years of Ayade’s administration.
Prof Esu stated that the tour will enable him to assess the financial prudence observed by the Chairmen in the execution of the projects for the purposes they were intended.
The deputy governor maintained that he will also assess the general sanitation of the councils to ensure that the clean and green environmental policy initiated by Ayade’s administration has been maintained.
Prof Esu pointed out that at the end of the exercise, marks will be awarded to each local government councils as a guide for future performance.
Prof Esu later inspected 3 shopping Centre buildings at the Calabar Municipality; of which two have been completed and put to use. One of the buildings is undergoing roofing work.
The Deputy Governor also inspected two boreholes with reticulations at Efut Ikot Effiong Nti Ward 7 and Ikot IshieWard 6.
He equally inspected materials/ equipment meant for furnishing two health centers constructed by the Odukpani Local Government Council.
The deputy governor was accompanied on the inspection by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mrs Stella Odey-Ekpo, the SA Local Government Affairs, Mr Egbung Odama and other directors.
