By Kennedy Dimaku:

Hon. Hassana Arkilla is the Chairperson, Bauchi State Agency for Mass Education (BASAME). She is committed to meeting the sustainable development Goal on Mass Literacy as well as sustainable peace and unity through cultural heritage. She has a different persona to different people. Call her a grassroot politician and you may not be wrong. Or a grassroot mobilizer – you are on point. Address her as a woman of the people and you are on the right trajectory. Enquire of politicians of this quintessential leader and the response would be a heavy weight puller- of-crowd that no political party would want to lose. She is a woman of substance that has the interest of the people at heart.

At the just concluded VIIMAAYAA 2023 cultural festival, our correspondent sighted her in the midst of her people dressed in cultural regalia. That fulfils the saying that culture is truly the people’s way of life.

VIIMAAYAA is an annual cultural festival of Ayaa Nation wherein the sons and daughters of Ayaa land , both those at home and in the diaspora come together to celebrate their culture. This in no little measure, has been a vehicle that foster unity amongst the people. VIIMAAYAA 2023 was titled – Sustaining the unity of Ayaa land.

Speaking with our correspondent during the cultural festival, Arkilla who also was a former chairman, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, noted that Ayaa land was known for peaceful coexistence with one another including strangers in their communities.

She pointed out that the cultural festival was a tool to foster unity amongst the people stressing that no meaningful development would take place in a society replete with rancour, chaos, hostility and war.

She maintained that the peaceful coexistence in Ayaa land and Bogoro Local Government Area by extension was worth emulation by all Nigerians.

Hon Hassana Arkilla brought her leadership prowess to bear during her tenure as the Chairman, Bauchi State Orphan and Vulnerable Children Agency, where lives of numerous less privileged persons were touched.

She  is also the Coordinator, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign for Bauchi State, Member of State Campaign Council for Kaura /Jatau 2023, DG Women Campaign for Kefas Magaji, PDP Candidate for House of Representatives  for Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro federal constituency

She has served her people in various other leadership positions which include but not limited to: National Ex-officio, Bauchi South Senatorial District PDP Women Leader,  amongst others.
