The minority House Whip, Federal House of Representatives Member representing Kaura Federal Constituency Kaduna North, Hon. Gideon Gwani has collaborated with the Nigeria Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) to provide training and empowerment in aquatic value chain programmes to people in selected communities of Kaura and Jaba Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

The event titled “Training and Empowerment of Unemployed in Aquatic Value Chain Programme in selected communities of Kaura and Jaba L.G.A, took place in Abuja.

The two day event was conducted by PDS Tekos XPANZIO Resources and Services Ltd.

The training which is centered on aquatic value chain enlightened the participants on fish farming; fish feed production, fish fingerling spawning, fish preservation and marketing. It also discussed the problems affecting start-ups in the aquatic value chain and lots more.

The resource person at the event, Dr. Cookey Ibifubara told the attendees that aquatic business is highly viable. While explaining the value chain which he described as any point in the production process of a product which can generate income, he advised the participants to form cooperative societies to be able to access funds from organizations like CBN, NIRSAL etc. He promised to be of assistance to participants whenever they called on him.

Speaking at the event, Edward Auta thanked Hon. Gideon Gwani for impacting the lives of members of his constituency and promised that he would tell his people to vote for him in the forthcoming general election.
