The author of a biography on Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Candido (The immediate past Executive Chairman of AMAC 2016-2022), Dayo Lawal said that no Local

Government Area Chairman in Nigeria had done what Candido did during his six years as the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). Dayo Lawal said this during the launch of the book in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists at the event, Dayo Lawal said that it was the number of new things Candido did in office that made him write the book.

The author who worked with Candido throughout his tenure in office served as the Special Assistant on Media, Public Relations and Documentation was able record the landmark achievements of Candido and some of his selected speeches. The title of the book is: “Abdullahi Adamu Candido: Service of Distinction (Golden Footprints and Selected Speeches)”.

Speaking at the event Abdullahi Adamu Candido pointed out that the number of people at the event would have been more if he was still in the office. He said that this is a pointer to office holders to note that immediately they leave office, most of those who benefited one way or the other from them would desert them. He thanked the author for the good work he did and said that copies of the book should be given to guests free of charge.

He did not forget to mention some of the things that made him an exceptional leader while in office. One of them was that he collected half salary throughout his stay in office. He also introduced an annual welfare package of five hundred thousand naira for the past chairman of AMAC.
