ABOUT THE BOOK, HELP! IGNORANCE DESTROYING NIGERIA.

The book, titled: Help! Ignorance destroying Nigeria, with a subtitle: Why Africa may remain underdeveloped/ shithole of the world, was written after research that spanned over four decades. The first few copies of the manuscripts were printed and distributed to some selected researchers keen on seeing Africa take its pride of place in the comity of nations. Their views, criticism, advice, suggestions were taken into cognizance, hence a follow up copy of the book which would soon be available for the general public.

PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH.

The research, prior to the writing of the book, was carried out with the sole intention to find the underlying reasons for the massive development, low level poverty, corruption, insecurity, pilfering of state funds, among others, in UK, Europe etc, under capitalist system, a development that is today dangerously at variance with what currently obtains in Nigeria and other African climes, under the same system.

In carrying out this research, the researchers believe, and rightly too, that God in His infinite mercies did not limit any race based on colour, religion, ethnicity or tribe, and that the greatest limitations of man are IGNORANCE. It is, therefore, only through research that events that shape the destiny of man are revealed for his ultimate benefits. The researchers were also propelled to continue with the research, against all odds because of the achievements of Nigerians and other Africans in other countries, despite limited resources available to them when they were back home and then opined that, if despite the poor facilities, some were still able to do extremely well, then the core reasons for the dismal economic and social performance in Nigeria and most climes in Africa, under capitalist system, must be here with us.

WORDS ON THE MARBLE: Stop eluding our hopelessness, lack of development, persistent high level of corruption, poverty, insecurity, do or die politics, etc in Nigeria/Africa, under capitalist system to our race, colour, religion, ethnicity, failure to restructure Nigeria/zoning of political offices, among others. Based on the research, Nigeria and indeed the rest of Africa are victims of the most savage social ideology that made their development, under capitalist system IMPOSSIBLE. The BITTER truth is that, until the leaders in these climes, are able to address the STRUCTURAL problem,  INHERENT in the capitalist system, they may never develop beyond the current status quo of lack of development, lack of trust, impunity etc as their citizens,  IGNORANTLY go after each other throat, using any arsenal available to each other i.e. religion, ethnicity, and tribe etc, with devastating economic/social consequences, the so called survival of the fittest system, alias near animal kingdom version of capitalist system, (winner takes all social ideology) where life is short and brutish. The simple truth is that, as their citizens struggle, due to IGNORANCE to undo each other, nothing would ever work optimally.

Any hope? Not at all, UNLESS the social imbalance INHERENT IN THE CAPITALIST system are holistically addressed, or DISINTEGRATE along religious, ethnic and tribal divide lines etc for NOTHING would ever work among your citizens as presently constituted, as they disagree, even over simple matters.

Again, can two walk together except they agree? We must find the midway solutions that address the core problem or remain a reference point FOR ALL SYMBOLS of a wasted generation, so sad but the simple truth. Just onlookers and space occupiers in a world that technology holds sway.

COMMON MAN STRATEGIC ANALYSIS.

HOW WRONG SOCIAL IDEOLOGY MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR NIGERIA TO PROGRESS, UNDER CAPITALIST SYSTEM.

*PREAMBLE.

The view of most Nigerians and some Africans interviewed during the research, prior to the writing of the book titled: Help! Ignorance destroying Nigeria was that the major fundamental reasons why these climes could not progress, just like UK, Europe etc did, and still do, under capitalist system, was because of their polarisation along ethnic, religious and tribal lines. Some, especially Nigerians, were of the view that failure to restructure Nigeria and inability to zone political offices etc are the major fundamental reasons for the sordid economic and social developments in Nigeria, under the same system.

WHAT THE RESEARCH REVEALED.

The research, that spanned over four decades, revealed that the major secret of massive development, low level corruption, poverty, insecurity etc in UK, Europe etc, under capitalist system, was, and is still the planning, investment in their greatest asset i.e., human capital through right state structures i.e., social inclusion, that its centrepiece is human capital development.

*What Europe did differently from Nigeria/African leaders and why?

Based on the research, the realization by the leaders in these climes, that the greatest DANGERS of capitalist system, unlike in a socialist dispensation was, and is still that, without state (government) INTERVENTION millions i.e., majority would not be able to have access to healthcare, education, housing etc, with attendant economic and social consequences, hence these climes today run HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, HOUSING ETC for all citizens social ideology. A social ideology that today, uses several working concepts such as: social security tax, insurance, mortgage, loans, credit system, among others, to assure all their citizens that, irrespective of the circumstances of their birth, status of their parents, unexpected life challenges etc that they, their children and generations yet unborn, could use such state structures, AN ALMOST SELF-FINANCING SYSTEM, to have access to their basic needs. A social ideology that literally say to their citizens, please use me when you need to have access to all basic necessities of life, do not engage in acquisition of illegal wealth, in order to do so. The researchers discovered that, by running HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, HOUSING ETC for all citizens social ideology that climes in Europe laid a solid foundation for the human and infrastructural development in Europe forever.

*The real issues exposed by the research?

The real issues exposed by the research are about the right social ideologies i.e. social inclusion that MUST be in place SIMULTENOUSLY with economic visions of the system, in order to ensure sustainable economic/social stability, and workability of the system. The issue has nothing to do with the race, colour, religion, ethnicity nor tribe of those that practice the system.

Strategic benefits of state structures to European citizens

*Yes, because of healthcare, education, etc for all citizens’ social ideology, all the citizens in Europe could aspire to any level in life. Today, these structures are the major reason why:

*their children do not hawk and waste on the streets during school hours, hence the low level of poverty, insecurity in these climes. In the same vein, it is the major reason why their workers are rarely seen soliciting for bribes to enable them survive on their legitimate income, hence the level of development, low level pilfering of state funds, corruption etc in these climes. The research also revealed that the presence of state structures is one of the major reasons for the currency stability in Europe as workers do not constantly demand an increase in their salary/wages. During the research a Briton told the researchers that they would never support a situation where Nigeria naira could exchange at par with British pound, according to him to do so, is to allow a Nigerian that currently earns say: thirty thousand naira to close a shop in Briton, while his counterpart that earns say two thousand pounds looks on with envy, a food for thought for strategic thinkers.

*The greatest benefit of healthcare, education etc for all social ideology?

*What those with the majority population in Europe do?

*How religion, ethnicity etc were made irrelevant in Europe?

The greatest benefits of healthcare, education etc for all citizen social ideology was, and is still that, those that need such structures, to enable them have access to basic necessities of life, are in the MAJORITY, so politicians in UK, Europe etc, having met such structures that assured all citizens of access to healthcare, education, housing etc simply sustained the tempo, by campaigning based on issues alone. They realised that campaigning based on religion; ethnicity, tribe etc would never get the electorate to support them. This is the MOMENTUM that those with the majority population in Europe seized. They simply addressed human needs and others followed, they by this strategic action, made religion, ethnicity etc irrelevant and massive development inevitable. The simple truth is that humans and animals alike tilt towards where their needs are met, hence gladly support the use of improvements in state structures i.e. issue based politics to solicit for their support.

Yes, the social structure in Europe made it possible for millions (majority) who ordinarily would never have had access to basic necessities of life, due to circumstances of their birth or status in life etc, to be able to use state structures to move to the next level of their lives, hence these crops of people obviously grew up to view their government as the father, mother etc they NEVER had, hence their unprecedented love for their country. Needless to emphasise that, through the right structures, Europe was able to move men from the apron of their family to that of the state, men now willing to die for a country that gave them all in life.

HOW WRONG SOCIAL IDEOLOGY IMPEDE HUMAN/INFRASTRUCTURAL GROWTH IN NIGERIA?

The research further revealed that, IGNORANCE of the dangers inherent in a capitalist system, made Nigeria and indeed most African leaders, not to articulate and run right social structures i.e. social inclusion, that not only, would had addressed the DANGERS inherent in a capitalist system, but by extension, lead to massive human and infrastructural development in these climes, as is the case all over Europe today.

*What do Nigerian and African leaders do differently from European leaders?

*Dangers of Nigeria’s current social ideology?

The research revealed that no money, no healthcare etc social ideology that Nigeria, ignorantly foisted upon their citizens since independence, made some Nigerians resort to self-help of survival of the fittest, using ANY MEANS possible, even at the expense of the state. During the research, we observed that some resorted to using their position, engaging in corruption, pilfering of state funds and considering that Nigeria is polarised along ethnic, religious and tribal etc many resorts to these. These developments the researchers observed are all by products of the most savage social ideology that Nigeria leaders, ignorantly foisted upon their citizens. Needless to emphasise that funds stolen, diverted etc made it impossible for Nigeria not to develop beyond the current status quo, of under development, persistent high level of pilfering of state funds, corruption, poverty, among others.

The researchers discovered that Nigeria’s/Africa’s current social ideology aka. NO MONEY, NO HEALTHCARE, NO EDUCATION ETC that these crimes, ignorantly foisted upon their citizens since independence, is one of the major reasons why millions of their children, future productive workforce, hawk and waste on the streets during school hours.

*In the same vein, it is one of the major reasons why the majority of their workers found it extremely difficult to survive on their legitimate income, despite increases in their salary and wages over the years. Hence, many ignorantly view any person around him/her as the problem and considering their polarisation along ethnic, religious and tribal etc hell was let loose as each try to undo one another, using any means possible and the consequences are all you see today all over Nigeria/Africa, as each sees other as the problem, all fighting to dominate each other. And like in the animal kingdom anything but everything becomes the tool for the WAR OF SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, with dire economic/social consequences that their impacts are better imagined than felt.

*Most importantly, it is one of the major reasons why their currencies have remained very low, when compared with other capitalist economies, besides, these climes current social ideology, made the management of their polarisation along ethnic, religious and tribal lines, almost impossible, as each religious, ethnic and tribal groups attempt to undue each other, using any means possible, with dire economic/social consequences.

MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION FOR NIGERIAN LEADERS.

MOMENT OF TRUTH. .

*The bitter truth.

  How can Nigeria reduce the level of poverty, insecurity with a social ideology that, since independence has no answer to millions of its citizens, especially children, the future productive workforce, that today hawk and waste on the streets during school hours because their parents are poor or due to one reason or the other along this life’s uncertain journeys?  How can Nigeria reduce the level of pilfering of state funds, corruption and by extension enhance infrastructural/ human capital development etc with a social ideology that has no answer to the real reason/s why majority of Nigerian workers are unable to survive on their legitimate income, despite increases on their salary/wages over the years?

Again, the bitter truth is that, until Nigeria and African leaders see their citizens as a resource that MUST BE PLANNED AND INVESTED upon, the status quo may never change. These climes may remain onlookers/space occupiers in a world where technology now holds sway.

*Are religion, ethnicity, failure to restructure Nigeria etc the real fundamental problems

The review further revealed that the current status quo in Nigeria has nothing to do with race, religion, ethnicity, failure to restructure Nigeria, zoning of political offices, separatist agenda etc and that resort to these, are simply by products of the most savage wrong social ideology. For instance, there are no religious, ethnic, or tribal groups in Nigeria that are of the view that ONLY the children of the poor should hawk and waste on the streets during school hours. The BITTER TRUTH is that Nigeria does not need to be restructured before any state in Nigeria or even the federal government could run a social ideology that assures all Nigerians of access to basic necessities of life, as is the case all over UK, Europe etc. In the same vein, Nigeria need not be disintegrated, zone political offices etc before Nigeria could run such state structures, that its centrepiece is human capital development. Again, the truth is that Nigeria’s failure to run the right state structures, that would have addressed the dangers inherent in a capitalist system, simply forced their citizens to resort to any means, to get access to their needs, with dire economic/social consequences.

GADDAFI CONNECTIONS?

Ghadafi, the former leader of Libya, saw the dangers inherent in the practice and application of the capitalist system, despite its perceived economic benefits over socialist system. His views then, was that the state i.e., government should be responsible for the healthcare, education, housing etc. for all her citizens using state resources and that, to him would not only be the SOLE PURPOSE of government but also the only way to ensure peace, progress, unity, peace etc. in Africa, having regard to their polarization along ethnic, religious, and tribal lines. Ghadafi ensured that all Libyans had access to basic necessities of life and in doing so, was able to achieve peace, progress, and unity in Libya. If only other African leaders saw the future like he did, Africa would have progressed beyond the current status quo.

Yes, if there were right social structures that its centrepiece is human/ infrastructural development, Nigeria would have been able to develop beyond the current status quo, as millions i.e., the majority would have used such structures to move to the next level of their lives. Needless to emphasise that absence of such structures made the management of religious, ethnic and tribal polarisation etc almost impossible as Nigerians resort to any means to undo each other, in order to get access to basic necessities of life, which right state structures would have addressed. That Nigeria current social ideology, aka survival of the fittest, alias near animal kingdom version of capitalist system, laid a solid foundation for lack of infrastructural/ human capital development in Nigeria, is to state the obvious, and the inability of Nigerians to agree on any issue, are simply by products of the most savage social ideology that its centrepiece is human capital DESTRUCTION. In the light of this research, anyone that still believes that children hawking and wasting on the street now, and workers that can never survive on their legitimate income, could translate to development of Nigeria, is surely living in a fool’s paradise. It is pertinent to note that Nigerians have, because of wrong social ideology, lost faith in their country. To many, only by relocating to another country, that they could move to the next level of their lives but unknown to them, the secret of massive developments in these climes are simply because of right social structures that its centrepiece is human capital development, and that the citizens in Europe would have behaved the same way, if their leaders did not see the real problem INHERENT in the capitalist system. It is pertinent to note that when Nigeria helped me to further my education abroad, they NEVER considered whether I was Igbo, Hausa or a Yoruba man, etc Nigeria simply made it possible for me to further my education, using available resources then, how can I grow up to hate her nor bite the finger that fed me? Is not possible so, if Nigeria leaders had, the basic knowledge that sustainable state structures i.e. social inclusion, MUST be an INTEGRAL part of our social ideology, millions (majority) would NEVER want to know who is their president nor where he or she comes from nor talk of restructuring, zoning etc at level and tempo some now do. 

CONCLUSION.

Nigeria, in the light of this research findings, MUST change her social ideology from NO MONEY, NO HEALTHCARE, NO EDUCATION ETC SOCIAL IDEOLOGY TO EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE, HOUSING ETC FOR ALL SOCIAL IDEOLOGY in order to move men from the apron of their families to that of the state time frame NOW*Nigeria MUST CARRY OUT RELEVANT RESTRUCTURING THAT ITS CENTERPIECE ARE HUMAN AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT. DEVOLVE POWERS to the federating states *Nigeria MUST be fair, equitable in all her dealings and above all, allow the rule of law to guide all her actions. Researchers believe and rightly too, that successful implementation of the above would help her tower above her present circumstances.
