The Director General of National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Dr. Rufus Ebegba has posited that good leadership is to ensure that everyone in the society has social equity and social welfare. He made the assertion in Abuja while speaking to newsmen at the unveiling of an NGO, “Rufus Ebegba Centre for Leadership and Environment Sustainability”: and the unveiling of the book, “Developmental Drive & Strategies”.

He said the idea behind setting up the NGO is to ensure that there is a platform to canvas for good leadership. “My vision behind the NGO is to ensure that we have a platform from which we can canvas for good leadership “, he said.

He also said that the book is about his political ideals and the social desire he has for Nigeria. His words, “The book itself is about my political ideals and the social desire of my great country “.

He noted that he put those ideals in writing so that other people can also appreciate it because according to him, “Good leadership is to ensure that everyone has social equity and social welfare “.

He further said that Nigeria should have a system that must account for everyone. He also said that there should be a system where the people can say,  “my leadership is there for me in times of need “.

He believes these should be preached at seminars where the old and young should come to the table now that there is opportunity to transit to another political level. He said this is an appropriate time for Nigerians to really reexamine themselves and ask the question, “Where we are, is it where we are supposed to be “.

He concluded by saying that Nigerians should stand up to their political responsibilities and elect leaders that can attend to their needs.
