The Zonal Marketing Manager of Startimes/NTA Star TV Network Stephanie Akaa has said that the aim of STARTIMES is to make sure that every home in Nigeria can afford digital entertainment. She said this at the grand finale of the 14^th edition of One Big Family Football Tournament in Abuja while talking to newsmen.

One Big Family Football Tournament is an annual event which started in 2008. The Tournament is organized to keep the youth busy and to harvest talent from among the participants as foreign scouts do go to the event.

Startimes is the major sponsor of this year’s event. Akaa said her organization sponsored the event with cash and materials. She said that jerseys were given to teams that got to the semifinal.  “We supported them financially, we branded jerseys from semifinal”, she said.

Akaa revealed that her organization always supports different organizations, of which One Big Family is one of them. She noted that Nigeria is a big market for her organization and the aim of her organization is to make sure that every home in Nigeria can afford digital entertainment.

Akaa said that the concept is meant to create celebrities in the area of football like JJ Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo and other football stars that represent Nigeria at international events. She also noted that the tournament will go a long way in taking the youth out of crime.

She then advised that youth should try to develop their talents by joining any of the teams that featured at the event. She also advised the youth to stay out of crime and get themselves in sport in order to discover their talents.
