A military clergyman Lt Col Rev Stephen Adamu has enjoined those who engage in philanthropic activities not to expect to make profit out of it. He made the statement when he was honoured as the pillar of the youths by a group known as Youth In Nigeria Institute (YINI).
The award ceremony, which took place in Abuja, was meant to celebrate him for the good works he has been doing towards youth empowerment speaking at the event Lt Col Rev Stephen Adamu thanked the group for honoring him. He explained that it is part of him to assist individuals with challenging issues. His words, “It is individuals on issues of humanity, issues of school fees for the less privileged and out of school children”.
He noted that it is God that gives and takes everything in life. He added that everybody has his reward from God because he believes that it is only God that will reward everyone. For those who have means but are not showing love to the less privileged, he has some words for them. “If anyone has the means of helping people, please don’t wait for any reward, don’t wait for you to be publicized before you begin to show love to people by giving of arms or by assistance”, he explained.
He is of the opinion that when people with means begin to help those in need that thing will change for better and there will be progress in the land. “If those that have are extending hand of fellowship to others that don’t have, I believe there will be progress in the lives of our youths and that will discourage them from engaging in social vices that are going on in the country”, he concluded.
