Youth should no longer be leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of now – Amb. Anaeme

Ambassador Juliet Anaeme has posited that the youth should no longer accept to be referred to as leaders of tomorrow but leaders of the present. She made the statement in Abuja during an award ceremony conferred on her by the Greater Igbo Forum as Ada Eji Eje Mba.

Amb. Anaeme argued that days are gone when they say that the youth are leaders of tomorrow. She then enjoined the youth to take up responsibilities and be as responsible as they can and make sure that they contribute to the success of the society.

Amb. Anaeme who is into humanitarian activities has passion for the less privileged especially women, the widows and the youth. She has been building capacities for the vulnerable group through training and empowerment.

On how she wants to persuade the youth to come out and take youth up the challenge she put to them. She said she has been engaging the youth and has built their hope by telling them that this is their time. Her words; “I move around, I tell the youth that you people are no longer the leaders of tomorrow but leaders of now. So there is the need for you to sit up and take responsibility.

“Be as responsible as you can and make sure that you contribute to the success of the society”, she added.

The president of Greater Igbo Forum Prince Levi Ezeorah said the group conferred the award on Amb. Juliet Anaeme because of her humanitarian services to the society especially to the women, widows and the youth. He said the award is to spur her to do more to the society.
