NUJ receives covid-19 items from AA Zaura Foundation

The chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Abuja Council, Emmanuel Ogbeche, the executive members of the Union and some members of the council welcomed AA Zaura Foundation led by its founder, Abdul Kareem Abdulsalam Zaura when they brought covid-19 fighting items to the Union. 

They came with hand sanitizers and face masks to be shared to members of the Union who he describes as partners in progress.

The chairman of the Union thanked the foundation for deeming it fit to partner with journalists at this critical moment. He promised that journalists will reciprocate the gesture of the foundation where and when it is necessary.

The concern of the founder is to identify how journalists are surviving and what support to be given to members of the Union. “My concern has been to know how we are surviving and what support we can offer in our own little way, just like a few others are doing”, he said.

He praises the government for confronting the scourge that has mitigated activities of the government, thereby limiting the impacts on the society. He urges all to think outside the box to be able to support the vulnerable in the society.

The founder of AA Zaura Foundation, Abdul Kareem Abdulsalam Zaura has been involved in empowering women and youth for over 15 years in the area of training and capacity building. He has been doing these in his community in Kano,  Abuja and other part of the country. 

The activities of AA Zaura Foundation which is a charity organisation dedicated to supporting the needs of the vulnerable in the society who intend to be relevant, even though there are slim opportunities.

The foundation according to its founder will open its portal to the students in Kano to be able to access scholarship scheme put in place by the foundation. This will be happening in the month of Ramadan.

The foundation also distribute food items to the poorest of the poor in the communities the cover.

The foundation has a new ambulance with the state-of-the-art gadgets that moves from community to community to make sure medical services get to the people.

Among things the foundation provided for the fight against covid-19 sophisticated face masks and hand sanitizers which they share to Frontline workers and their associates.
