The Emir of Keffi HRH, Alh. Dr. Barr. Shehu Chindo, Yamusa 111 of Keffi, has advised that young generation must try as much as possible to get themselves educated. He gave the advice to youths during an award ceremony being conferred on him by a group of credible media men from F.C.T. Abuja. While receiving the award, the Emir noticed that most of the people in the group were from the Southern part of Nigeria. He posited that the honour bestowed on him by the group is without bias. And it proved that Nigeria cannot be divided, according to the Emir. He pointed out that coming together of Nigeria was not by force, but by convenience.
The group has conferred on the Emir, the “Traditional Ruler of the year 2020” because of the way he has been able bring peace and unity among his subjects. The Emir thanked the group for the gesture and promised to collaborate with the media in the area of education because he knows the importance of education. For that he says that the youth must have education. His words; “So let me use this opportunity to advise the young generation coming up that first of all, they must get themselves educated and listen to their parent”.
He further advised that love must be extended to all Nigerians by whoever that is concerned.

His Royal Majesty Alh. Dr. Barr. Shehu Chindo ( PHD) Yanusi 111 of Keffi was born on 4th November 1966 in Keffi which was in formerly in Plateau State and now in Nasarawa State. He finished his primary school education in 1978 at Baptist primary school in Keffi.
He attended Plato College Sharon where he obtained his secondary school certificate in 1987. In 1989 he obtained a Diploma in law from ABU Zaria. He went further to earn a Bachelor of law (LLB) Degree from the prestigious Usman Dan Folio University, Sokoto in 1996.
His Royal Highness attended Lagos Law School and was called to the Bar in 1999. He was posted to EXXOIMOBIL in 1999 for his NYSC and he was assisting senior Lawyers on research, Legal issues etc. Because of his diligence and brilliance he was offered an appointment as a consultant by Exxon.
His Excellency was not done with what he had academically that he proceeded to the University of Dundee in Scotland UK for Master of Law (LLM Legume Masters) on Environmental Law and policy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy. That was in May, 2004.
Back to Nigeria after his studies in Scotland he was appointed as an Administration Officer by Nasarawa State government in 2004 and was posted to secretary to the state government office (SSG) as state Desk Officer, Coordinating UNICEF activates until he rose to the position of principal administrative officer in 2007; and also the state coordinator, where HRH, assisted in construction of many boreholes in most of the thirteen LGA and sixteen Development Areas in Nasarawa State under the tutelage of UNICEF mandate on community animation. Worthy of Note, between 2007and 2008 he was a member of national working group (NWG) committee on New Partnership for Africans Development (NEPAD) Nigerian and member National Steering Committee (NSC) within the period, to coordinate North-Central Geo-Political Zone (Benue, Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi and Kwara States)
With great zealousness, he migrated from Nasarawa State Government to National Universities Commission in 2009 and was appointed, Principal Academic Standards Officer with major responsibilities on legal drafting, Academic briefs Research and Strategic planning issues. Also, his Royal Highness quest for academic with high zealousness; made him to become Lecturer 1 in Nasarawa State University Keffi in 2011, in the Faculty of Law. He was the only Lecturer , who specialized on Environmental law and Policy; Oil and gas and related issues.
From there, he proceeded to International Islamic University Malaysia (LLM) in 2011 for study fellowship and bagged a Doctoral Degree of Philosophy (laws) PhD (Energy Laws) with specialization in Renewable Energy and sustainable Development. His research laboratory approach was on “The Establishment of Legal Framework for sustainable Development of Renewable Energy in Nigeria.
He became the only Scholar to obtain his Doctor of Philosophy laws within prescribed time frame and the only lecturer in that specialization in the Faculty of Law, Nasarawa State University Keffi. However, his Royal Highness was privileged to be retained to impact knowledge in his Alma mater (Malaysia) but Baba, Late Emir instructed him to come back to Nigeria, to impact such knowledge required and he obeyed.
HRH, DR, Barr. Chindo Yamusa 1111, came back and added more value to the students of undergraduate and postgraduate, Faculty of Law, as Faculty Examination Officer and lecturer until his selection by the king makers and appointed by Nasarawa State Government as the 15th Emir of Keffi; 14th December 2015.
He is the President of Keffi Emirate Council; Deputy Chairman of Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs and member Northern State Council of Chiefs; in Nigeria and presently the Chancellor, Nasarawa State University.
Interestingly, His Royal Highness, as an academics and prior to migrating to the Royal throne, has written sound intellectual journals, articles and books extensively, on mineral Law, Islamic Legal Frame work on share holders and Directors, Sustainable Development, Renewable Energy and related issues about global warning.
He has presented scholarly papers in most Developed and third world countries. His Royal Highness academic appearance was at the United nation Head quarter at New York in 2015, the month he was appointed 15th Emir of Keffi.
In conclusion, his Royal Highness is a consummate Scholar, author of many books sch as Milestone in Nigeria law in honour of Distinquished Senator Abdullahi Adamu 2007; Nigeria State House of Assembly (Power, Duties & Function) 2014, etc.
He has secured so many awards; national and international as well as membership of professional bodies. The Nigeria Bar Association and Fellow, Chattered Institutes of Management. Also, some of the several awards are; Nigeria Mining & Geo Science Society Services Award, Patron Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Award for quality leadership by Arewa Journalist Form, Award of Excellent, Rotary R1 District 9125; Abdul Zanga School Award; Peace Award; Royal Golden Legacy Award; Leadership and Peace Award by Boys Brigade of Nigeria Keffi Battalion; Award of Excellence by law students Association, Nasarawa State University, Keffi; Award of Excellence Quranic Recitation and leadership scorecard performance, Governing Council of lslamic University in Uganda and many others.
His Royal Highness, Emir of Keffi has visited twenty four (24) countries in the universe Viz: United Kingdom, England, Ireland and Scotland; USA; China, Malaysia, Republic of Benin; Thailand, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Dubai, Australia; South Africa; Canada, Spain; Egypt, Germany, (Paris), France, Poland, Togo, Italy, Belgium, Singapore and Uganda.
He is married and blessed with a female and four male descendants. He is a humble personality and a leader. He has seen and has conquered. He has exhibited fact, he has made himself relevant, and his name will be mentioned in the history books of Keffi and Nasarawa State, and that is why the trumpet must be blown of his momentous accomplishments across the nations.
