Sei Peyi asks Nigerians to shun corruption

A prominent traditional ruler in Abuja, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Usman Nga Kupi the SeI Pei of Garki has urged Nigerians to shun corruption and other vices that have been eating deep into the fabric of the nation, Nigeria.
He made this appeal when he was talking to news men on the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on Nigerians during the just concluded Ramadan fasting. The traditional ruler was grateful to God for sparing his life and those of his subjects during the 2020 Eid el Fitri which was limited by COVID-19 pandemic that has changed the way many things used to be done. This year’s Ramadan fasting was observed by Muslim faithfuls all by themselves in their houses without the usual gathering to break fast in the evenings.
At the end of the one month fasting, Muslim faithfuls were not allowed to gather for the Eid el Fitri prayers to mark a successful end of the festival.
The Sei Pei thanked the President Mohammadu Buhari, the FCT Minister, Alhaji Abubakar Bello and the DG of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Dr. Ihekweazu for the part they played in making sure Nigerians abide by the instructions on COVI-19 pandemic.
He praised the government for providing palliatives to his people and urged his people to appreciate whatever they were given as it is not easy for government to satisfy everybody’s need at this critical period.
At the time the pandemic was noticed in the country, the federal government imposed lock down on Lagos, Ogun states and FCT to last for an initial two weeks and later extended by another two weeks.
The Seyi Peyi noted that his people were becoming worried because they were not doing their business. He urged them to bear the situation on ground as it is only the person who is alive that thinks of business.
He advised them to abide by the curfew period and make good use of the time allowed for to do their businesses which is between 6am and 8pm.
HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Usman Nga Kupi noted that raining season has started and urged his people to go to the farm to support the federal government diversification plan. He recalled that Mr. President said diversification should be in all facets of the economy. He therefore urged Nigerians to be part of the effort for self-reliance in the country.
He frowned at the level of corruption , bribery, insecurity and other vices that have been plaguing the country. He urged Nigerians to see the country as our own and shun dividing factors like ethnicity, religion, state of origin, etc.
In conclusion he urged Nigerians to support the present administration of President Buhari to make Nigeria great and maintain the giant of Africa as we all know.
