Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Southern Borno Senatorial seat in the February 9, 2019 general elections, Kudla Satumari has gone to the tribunal sitting in Nyanya FCT to challenge the election of Seen Ali Ndume.

The tribunal headed by Justice Kekemeke has two other Justices on the panel.

Recall that INEC has declared the incumbent Sen Ali Ndume the winner of the of the election.

The runner up, Kudla Satumari of PDP was represented at the tribunal by team of three lawyers led by Barr. P H Kyellek and two other Lawyers; Barr’s. Allison Citta and Chiwar Yusuf.

Barr Kyellek says the purpose of the application was for tribunal to direct INEC to allow their client access to and inspect certified true copies of electoral documents used at the Senatorial election.

The days hearing was an ex parte application and it is only the lawyers of petitioner or defendant were in the tribunal.

At the moment there is no date for the next hearing as the time for preliminary petitions, replies has not elapsed. It is until the time expires that there will be a date.

Barr. Kyellek tells our reporter that they are going to inspect electoral documents and then present it to the court to prove their case.
