The National Chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP) Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani has said that his party is ready for the forthcoming elections in 2019. Speaking to news men in his Abuja office he said the party has been well positioned that many prominent politicians are joining it.
ADP is one of the four nationally spread political parties in Nigeria and it has a very unique constitution that defines members’ rights. For example the party has a committee that decides the final outcome of party election if there is a stale mate between aspirants. According to the chairman this committee is above every other committee in the party.
He informed newsmen that the party is bigger than anybody elected on its platform and cannot allow any body elected on its platform to dictate for the part. These are well documented in the party constitution which he says anybody contesting any position under the party must abide by.
On the spread of the party in terms of quality and sound individuals to represent the party, he says the party has men and women who can hold their any time. He revealed that his party will field candidates in every state during the forthcoming elections in 2019.
Speaking on thuggery, he said the party has warned its members to be law abiding and shun anything that will indict them before, during and after the elections.
He said that his party is totally against vote buying and advised INEC and the government to put measures in place that will curb vote buying during elections.
