The Executive Director of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Auwal Musa Ibrahim (Rafsanjani) has been honored by Correspondent Reporters of NUJ.
According to the correspondents, the award was long overdue given the fact that the awardee has over time
a rewarding role in making Nigerians know the new trend in world government and in advocating for transparency in policy making.
In his response, Mr Auwal appreciated the NUJ for counting the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre and himself worthy of such an award. He noted that without the media CISLAC would not have been where it is today because its activities would not have gained the massive public recognition it has today He however pointed out that he was initially skeptical about receiving the award due to its nature, but decided to receive it knowing that the media has always given CISLAC its full support despite being a non-profitable organization. He acknowledged that the media’s collaboration with CISLAC has yielded uncountable benefits and as such called for continuous partnership in keeping the public informed and sensitized on electoral activities, health, education, security and other sectors.
