CP assures FCT residents of safety

The new FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Sadiq Abubakar Bello has assured FCT residents of the safety of their lives and property under his administration. Speaking to some news men in his office he posited that Abuja is a mini Nigeria and as such deserves maximum security despite the threat to the cooperate existence of the country.

He assures that residents of FCT have nothing to fear. “They have nothing to fear as far as FCT is concerned. Everybody can be guaranteed safety”, he asserted.

 

He went on to urge residents of FCT to go about their normal activities without molestation. He says that all they need to do is to be law abiding as FCT is their home. His word: “They need to be law abiding. This is their home. Nigeria is home for all”.

He promised that all security issues in the FCT will be properly addressed, and added that the police will ensure that people will sleep with their two eyes closed. He also called on the members of the public to have confidence in the police.

The new FCT CP also enjoins the resident s to trust the police and come out to participate in the issues that concern the security of their environment.

He said that this is the era of community policing which involves active participation the public. He says that the role the community has to play is to first and foremost provide the police with necessary information about crime and criminality in their areas. Secondly to advise the police on how best they want to be policed. Hear him, “They can also offer advice on how best they think they can be policed”.
