Mr. Nwokolo Chigozie who is an expert in car paint-spraying has his car spraying Booth at N0. 406 line in Apo Mechanic village in Apo District area of FCT Abuja. His shop which was well equipped with several expensive modern machines for the latest vogue in car spraying were all razed down by fire outbreak which took place during last weekend. Worse still, a car apparently owned by his client undergoing works in the said shop was also consumed by the fire beyond recognition.
While narrating his ordeal alongside his wife to this reporter, Mr. Chigozie who was in state of low spirits explained that he was at Gudu area outside Apo when the fire incident happened. He said that according to the explanation he received from those that witnessed the incident from inception, the fire did started with a mild noise and at once metamorphosed into high frequency apparently because the car which was undergoing some works was with enough fuel in the tank notwithstanding some highly inflammable wares in the shop must have stimulated the fire.
When asked whether he suspected foul play from possible criminal minded individuals. He responded on the contrary even as he relied on God to help him overcome the quagmire he finds himself. Mr. Chigozie emphasized that he lost well over N16 million worth of goods in the shop. He however was grateful to Almighty God who prevented the fire from spreading to other buildings in spite of densely his shop is to other apartments and buildings. He is however using this medium to seek financial assistance from government, organizations and spirited Nigerians.
When asked for his advice to Fire Service agency on how best to handle future fire outbreak such as this; “I would only advise them to station a fire service Truck that will always take care of Apo District because by the time the fire service Truck which is presently stationed in Garki would have overcame the daily rigorous vehicular traffic on the road from Garki to reach Apo, the worst would have been done” Mr. Nwokolo Chigozie concluded.
