YJF, NOA, Sensitize Youth on Illegal Migration in Africa

Journalists in Nigeria under the aegis of Young Journalists Forum, would today commence its sustained campaign against illegal migration in Africa, at the National Press Centre, Radio House, where stakeholders are expected to proffer practical solutions in the quest to tame these tides.

Speakers at the event includes Prof. Godini Dara, National President, of Nigeria, Oral Literature Association, NOLA, the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahaman Dambazau, Agriculture Audu Ogbe, Garba Abari,  Diredtor General, National Orientation Agency, Acting DG, NAPTIP, amongst others.
In a statement by Chukwuma Nzeh, Coordinator, Ene Okon, Secretary, of the Young Journalists Forum, the group noted that,
The speakers are expected to analyse in a pragmatic way strategies to check desperation, and extreme practices for economic reasons. Our research revealed that those who embark on these “Suicide missions, are not the poorest in the society, as the pay at least N 100, 000:00, enough to start a trade. Recently a Gambian footballer was recorded to have drowned in Mediterranean Sea, trying to reach Europe, same week 240, drowned in a capsized boat, and on daily bases there are more cases.
We are also faced with scourge of desert trekking, where corpse of unsuccessful aspirant litter, or the man concealed in an export container? And list goes on.
We want to call on young media practitioners the world over, especially in African to join this advocacy, against worst forms of illegal Migration, as our collective social responsibility to the society we server.

The event is another media contribution to bridge the obvious gap between government and the masses, to meet to agree on the way to go from there.
The event would also reward excellence service to society, with Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, of NORDICA Fertility Center, for completing young familes. Amb.Chris Okafor, Group Chairman, Metrotile, for building Young Enterprenuers. Chief Samuel Heinz, MD/CEO, New Nyanya group, for employing an army of young Nigerians across the Country. Emmanuel Ogbeche, For Mentoring young Journalists in West Africa. James Chijioke Umeh for Engaging Young Media practitioners, Dr. Dickson Akoh, For promoting peace amongst youths. And Comrade Adams Oshiomole, as YJF, Grand Comrade of 2 decades.
