MODACS gets new executive

Ministry of Defense Staff Agriculture Co-Operative Society has elected new
executive members to pilot the affairs of the cooperative for the next
three years.
Recently, at the 4th Annual General Meeting held in Abuja, over 500
delegates from different states of the federation converged to
returned Comrade Ishaq Babatunde Gbadamosi unopposed, as the
president, for continuity of projects and achievements recorded in his
first tenure. Also returned unopposed were Mr.  Shakiru O. Oloyede and
Mrs. Muobuike, Francisca Nneamaka as General Secretary and Financial
Secretary respectively.
Comrade Ikedi Awah Okoroafor was elected Assistant General Secretary
with 270 votes defeating his rival, Jiya Theophilus who scored180
votes, while Mr. Sanusi Attah scored 233 votes to emerge the Vice
President, defeating his rival, Nwankwo Kemkanma who scored 153
votes.For treasurer, Jideofor Juliana scored 267 votes to defeat his
rival who scored 130 votes.
Other elected executive were Adebayo Adegoke for Welfare Officer, Kalu
Nnate Project officer, and Hassan Omomeji for Publicity Secretary.
In his inaugural speech, the President, Comrade Ishaq Gbadamosi
thanked the people for the confidence reposed on him, and promised not
to let them down.
He reached out to those who lost in the election to join hands with
the executive to build a formidable and vibrant cooperative, stressing
the potency of a united force. He assured the people of a better and
virile cooperative year.
Meanwhile, Gbadamosi was widely accepted for the second time in office
due to the performance of the executive during the first tenure which
Include but not limited to unprecedented cash inflow from N5 million
to above N20 million monthly, disbursement of loan from N54 million to
above N144 Million, as well as increase in number of the benefitting members.
This feat according to him has repositioned the cooperative to witness
drastic improvement.
Expressing her joy, the treasurer, Mrs Jideofor Juliana said, “Having
emerged as the treasurer, I want to assure the cooperators that their
money is in safe hands.” She thanked all those who made the election a
success saying that she would execute her responsibility with all
diligence.
Comrade Ikedi Awah Okoroafor who was elected the   Assistant General
Secretary, viewed his emergence as a challenge considering that to
whom much is given, much is expected, positing that the achievement in
the first tenure was nothing but a tip of the ice berg. He said he
would bring his wealth of experience to bear in order to take the
cooperative to a greater height.”
The Financial Secretary, Muobuike Francisca, a Chartered National
Accountant did not mince words when she said she would bring
professionalism on the financial records of MODACS, stressing her
wealth of experience as a member of Association of National
Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). She harped on the imperative to account
for every money expanded by the cooperative.
Yet, the Secretary General, Shakiru Oloyede pointed out that he was
prevailed upon by some cooperative members who deemed his potentials
as one that would help reposition MODACS. He was grateful to God who
has used the executive to bring transparency and accountability to
MODACS pointing to the astronomical achievements recorded in the last
three years. He called on the cooperation of the cooperators saying a
tree cannot make a forest.
Meanwhile all the executive members are in their second tenure except
the financial secretary, publicity secretary and the welfare officer
who are in their first tenure.
