In preparation to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council Poll, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and Chairman, Central Working Committee, Andrew Guni 2016 Bwari Area Council, Hon Yahaya Isah has maintained that PDP is a party to beat in Bwari pointing out that it controls about 70 percent of the electorate.
He stated that PDP and its candidates have all it takes to emerge victorious in the election.
For instance, he pointed out that the PDP candidate, Hon Andrew Samuel Guni is a person that is admired and accepted by the generality of the electorate. He described Guni as a detribalized man who associated and interacted with everybody irrespective of religion and tribe, adding that he carried people along even when he was in the civil service.
Isah maintained that the PDP primary election that produced Guni was transparent to all participants, adding that the different between the winner and the first runner up was four votes.
The former Bwari Chairmanship candidate under ANPP called on people of Bwari Area Council to come out en masse, to vote Hon Andrew Guni and PDP come April 9, as the only way to move Bwari Area Council forward.
He, however urged the youths to jettison any invitation, no matter who is involved, to perpetrate violence both during and after the election, charging the people to come out to vote as well as defend their votes.
“We know that we have the chances of winning in the election, but even if it is not, if you follow my footsteps, I have never advocated for violence even when I was contesting for Bwari Area Council Chairmanship. I have been an advocate of peace and violent free election. I also want all my supporters and Bwari people to join me in this campaign and condemn as well as reject any idea of violence in its entirety. I enjoin the people to vote for Andrew Samuel Guni and PDP councilors for better Bwari Area Council”,said the man who is regarded as a crowd puller in Bwari.
