Contrary to claims by Miss Rasheedat Bashir, a former staff of  Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, to Brekete Family, a radio programme that speaks for the voiceless, ensuring that they get justice, that she did nothing wrong to justify dismissal by her previous employers. A former Labour Leader Comrade Frank Udom, has said that she was laid off for vandalizing and stealing AEDC properties.

Comrade Udom who she accused of conspiring with others to ensure she was dismissed, said Miss. Rasheedat was found guilty by a panel of investigation set up by the AEDC, for vandalizing electrical installations at Government Secondary School, Lugbe on the 22nd day of March, 2014, amongst others and was arrested by the police at Lugbe for the crime.

He made this known in a letter dated 5th October, 2015 and addressed to Ordinary Ahmed Isa, President Brekete Family and copied to journalists in Abuja. Where he said “I want to state categorically that all she was talking were fabricated lies wrapped with the velvet of juicy stories to the Nigerian public.”

The Comrade said the true position of the matter is that” the woman appointment was terminated for vandalism and stealing of electrical installations at Government Secondary School Lugbe on the 22nd March, 2014.”

Where she used the stolen materials is easily accessible to Brekete Family for confirmation on demand, he also made the details of the Principal of the School available for confirmation.

He also noted that, That on the 15th February, 2014, Rasheedat collected the sum of 400,000 Naira to install 2x 300 KVA, 33/415KV S/S, at Palm Heights estate Trademore, adding that the site Engineer gave her the money in cash and when the case came up for hearing at the AEDC panel, she shamelessly beckoned on the Engineer to cover her up, but he refused.

She was also alleged to have collected over 3 million Naira, from one Engr. Alphonsus, who is also willing to testify against her, in cash, eye witnesses claim she carried the money in booth of her jeep, meant for electrical facilities for an estate along the airport road, contrary to the terms of her engagement, a staff’s interest competing with those of her employers.

The letter states that Rasheedat is not a qualified Engineer, from his findings as she is not registered with Council for Registration of Engineers in Nigeria, COREN, or Nigeria Society of Engineers, NSE, insisting that he will defeat Rasheedat in any law court with the numerous eye witnesses to her crimes, photographs, video coverage, facts and figures
