I’ll flush out criminals from Karu – DPO Yusuf

The DPO of Karu police division, Aisha A. Yusuf has put up measures which her men have been implementing in order to flush out criminals from the area. The Divisional Police Officer, who runs a transparent and an open door policy, has her numbers pasted on every wall in the station. She has maintained strict stance that bail is free in the station since she assumed the office.

Inasmuch as she frowns at criminals and criminality in the area, she has been maintaining a good police public relationship. The station has recorded huge success in crime prevention through measures she instituted on arrival. The notorious Kugbo axis which used to be den of criminals is now as calm as Aso Villa.

The leadership qualities of DPO Yusuf has been noticed by the police hierarchy that she has been attending courses; the latest being a one month management course she attended in Jos, Plateau State.

Investigation shows that criminals who used to operate in the area have relocated to nearby Nasarawa State as most of their members are languishing in different prisons serving various jail terms or awaiting trial moment (ATM).

The leadership qualities of DPO Yusuf does not stop at maintaining security of life and property of people in her division, but also in maintaining officers welfare. Most officers under her have undergone one type of training or the other since she became the DPO of the station. She maintains that she is not lazy and cannot tolerate laziness among her rank and file, her resolve to reward hard work.

The DPO has warned criminals to who still disturb the peace of people in the area to run away in their own interest. In order to deter criminals and the accomplices from operating in the area, she does not look at faces when handling criminal cases, no matter whose ox is gored.

The PCRC, under DPO Yusuf is the best in Abuja and members volunteer useful tips to the police on how to make the area safe and crime free.
