The presidential aspirant under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2015 election Dr. Jhalil Tafawa Balewa has rated the electoral exercise conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), very high. He revealed this while answering questions from newsmen at one of the polling booths at Jabi area of Abuja. “The election can compare to any election anywhere in the world”, he said.
He spoke on the level of maturity of Nigerians as regards democracy and election and he posited that Nigerians need more education on that. “Nigerians need education on the tenets of credible elections”, he opined.
On security at the polls he believed there was enough security at the centre. His only grouse was late arrival of electoral materials that made the election at the center to start behind scheduled.
There would have been commotion at the polling booth if he was not there when the crowd was becoming impatient with the security men and electoral officers. He spoke to the crowd and made sure all was well before driving away in company of his wife.
