Anambra State has prioritized education – Uzoezie

A former commissioner for Women Affairs in Anambra State and the current Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe, Dr. (Mrs) Cordelia Uzoezie (B.Ed., M.Ed., Ph.D.), has posited that Anambra State has prioritized education on the list of developmental issues in the state. She made this revelation at Abuja during a function at National University Commission (NUC).

Dr. Uzoezie who has been at forefront in education development was until her appointment as Commissioner, a Principal Lecturer at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe. She is a devout Catholic and was the Head of Department of Home Economics in the College for several years. She is an advocate of education for all and has contributed immensely to the development of education in the state.

The community leader belongs to several organizations in the Catholic Church. She is also a member of various learned societies and has many publications and journal articles to her credit. She hails from Igbo-Ukwu in Aguata LGA, and has helped many people from her immediate community and the state in general to acquire modern education at various levels.

Since her assumption of duty as the Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, she has carried out a lot of changes in several areas like infrastructure, personnel and student performance. She preaches excellence and said the school may transform to university of education in her time.
