A Nigerian surgeon based in Germany, Pastor Dr. Alex Olayinka, has been carrying kidney and heart transplant for Nigerians free of charge. Pastor Yinka as he is fondly called has successfully carried out six operations in less than two years. This is facilitated through the help of the European Union.

Pastor Yinka studied medicine at the University of Ibadan and did his youth service in Rivers State during the time of Gov. Peter Odili. He got a scholarship to study abroad and registered with World Health Organization which made it possible for him to work for WHO after graduation.

It is the WHO that picks his bills but he chooses where to offer humanitarian services, hence the choice of his country. Pastor Yinka lost both parents same day in auto crash in 1989. His school fees after the demise of his parents were by his church. At a time he had to do conductor’s job to augment what money he got from people. The 38year old Pastor is from Akoko in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He said he does not determine those he will operate on that the authorities screen deserving beneficiaries and invite him to come. He said he has operated on as many as have been presented by the authorities without any casualty.

Pastor Yinka informed our editor that young Nigerians who want to study medicine on UN scholarship can apply through him provided such person has relevant credits in WAEC exam. He made it clear the UN only recognizes WAEC results.

He finally advised Nigerians to always take care of themselves as there is no small or big sickness, and to seek for medical advice regularly.
