The Managing Director of Vitek Engineering Company Limited, Chief Vitus Ofodum, Ikemba Na Mbosi (Ihiala LGA) and the Ebe-Ebe Douwei of Kabowei Clan of Bayelsa, has identified with members of Ikoro- the umbrella body of Igbo journalists in Abuja. He was at NUJ Secretariat Utako to answer a call by some Igbo journalists who are preparing for election into executive positions of Ikoro. The camp that has Chief Abba-Eku Onyeka (for chairman) and Mr. Chris Richard (for secretary) invited the philanthropist to lend support to their aspiration.

After the introduction of the aspiring members by the campaign coordinator of the group, Mr. Victor Mba Agbai to Chief Ofodum and his entourage, the chief then thanked the group for trying to lead Ikoro to a new height. Chief Ofodum, who is the chairman of the Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria(LECAN), advised the aspiring journalists to try to abide by the constitution of Ikoro when they assume office after the election on the 31st May, 2014. He also advised them to beware of members of the group as they will turn back to haunt them if they fail to act according to their campaign promise. Eventually he promised to identify with Igbo journalists anywhere in the country and at any time.
Ikoro will be electing new executive members on the 31st May, 2014 after the dissolution of the interim leadership of the group. There will be manifesto night on the 30th May, 2014 at NUJ Secretariat, Utako.
