YOUTH SHOULD EMBRACE VOCATIONAL TRAINING – NATA Chairman

The FCT Chairman of Nigerian Association of Technicians and Artisans (NATA), Engineer Yahuza S. Abgu has advised youth to change their orientation towards vocational training like, auto mechanic, pacel beating etc. He made this appeal through our correspondent in his office during a courtesy visit.

NATA, according to the chairman was incorporated with CAC as a business entity some fifteen years ago. The association comprises of auto mechanics, auto rewire, auto mobile electricians, turner blacksmiths and panel beaters.  He told our correspondents that over 75% of technicians and artisans in FCT belong to NATA. The organization has been able to draw her members to government for them to benefit from government largesse.

Engr. Agbu revealed that their members abide by the rules and regulations of the association and that has reduced incidences of litigation among their members and their customers. But he said that defaulting members are always meant face the music.

On their partnership with LUBCON, he said the partnership has brought plenty benefits to NATA. He said that LUBCON remit share of profit from the partnership quarterly to NATA, and the association uses the fund in running their affairs. He also said their members benefit from government sponsored trainings and workshops, regularly. He advised artisans to join the association as they stand to benefit immensely.

The National Headquarters Liaison Officer, Comrade AbdulAzeez A. Yusuf told our correspondent that NAC has been training NATA members for 12years when they signed an MOU on how to sanitize the industry and elevate it to an enviable height. He said the present leadership of Engineer Agbu has brought sanity and changes to the association.
